Late Winter Foraging (North Wales)

This late winter foraging event will look at some of the fascinating plants and fungi that are out at this time of year. Many think that the winter period can be quiet for foraging but in fact this time of year can be incredibly productive as many plants start to produce the lush vibrant green leaves ready for spring flowers.

 

Even some fungi can be prodcutive at this time year too, and we will be searching for these more elusive species whils tlooking at the uses, folklore and ecology of many of our hedgerow and woodland plants.

 

You will be introduced how to forage safely and sustainably as well as learn about the law and foraging. You will gain an understanding of how to identify and use some of the commoner species of plants and fungi in the area and learn about their look-a-likes as well.

 

Places are limited on the event to 12 as to allow for a more relaxed, informal and personal experience for the event.

    Location - Flint area, North Wales. Details on where to meet will be given upon booking.

    What to bring - A good pair of walking boots is advisable. Clothing to suit the weather of the day. Many people find it helpful to bring a notebook or camera to make notes of all the plants we see.

  • In the event that Discover the Wild has to cancel an event due to extreme weather a full refund will be given. A full refund will also be given if the event for any reason has to be cancelled by Discover the Wild. If you decide you can not make the event then you can be moved on to another event date, but a refund will only be given if Discover the Wild can fill your spaces on the event.
